Writing For Busy Readers
A book by Todd Rogers and Jessica Lasky-Fink
I appreciated the rich references throughout the book but I didn't get much value out of it. If this is the first book ever you read about writing, then I would say go for it. It is well written (although I think at times they break their principles) and provides a good summary at the end that you can use as a reference. For someone who's gone over similar books, you won't pick up much from this one. Some principles are evergreen and very well-known, in those cases, the book didn't add anything new. If you have the chance, I would recommend reading the summarized principles and then digging deeper where you need to. If you read something like "On Writing Well" then skip this book.
