The Headless Horseman
A book by Mayne Reid
Wow, it took me so long to finish this book. Turns out I meant to read "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" which is why I was confused about it taking place in Texas. I'm quite conflicted by this book because it was a fun read overall but the plot is very predictable. Characters are depicted very well and I found the read to be entertaining, the mustache on Isidora kills me every time. For someone who speaks english as a second language, it was a bit challenging to read some dialogues. There are often parts where words are spelled as they are pronounced by the character which required some decrypting. The idea is honestly brilliant as it highlighted the education level of some folks. but it also made for a harder read. I would not re-read this book but it's a fun casual piece of literature.
